About the Scholarship: Imagine America ®

Each year, every high school in the United States and Puerto Rico can select up to three graduating seniors to receive $1,000 Imagine Americascholarships. This award-winning Imagine AmericaScholarship Program helps thousands of high school seniors each year pursue postsecondary career education at hundreds of career schools across the United States.

A leader in scholarship programs available for career education, Imagine America has met with immense praise since it was launched in 1998 by the Imagine America Foundation, the not-for-profit affiliate of the Career College Association.

In its very first year, Imagine America was honored with the Award of Excellence by the American Society of Association Executives.

The following year, the Imagine America Foundation was one of just nine organizations from across the United States to be chosen for the American Society of Association Executives' Summit Award which honors organizations that "propel America forward with innovative projects in education, skills training, standards-setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship and community service."

Imagine America has also received strong support from numerous prominent youth and education-focused organizations. General Colin Powell of America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth endorses the program.

Students must meet the standard admissions requirements of the participating career college to which they apply. In addition, the Imagine America Foundation offers the following four selection guidelines:

  • Likelihood of successful completion of postsecondary education
  • High school grade point average of 2.5 or greater
  • Financial need
  • Demonstrated voluntary community service during senior year
