SciTech will be offering the AP SPANISH LANGAUAGE exam on May 4, 2010 @ 8:00am. We have purchased 20 exams for this day.
Students are allowed to sign up in the SciTech office on a 1st come 1st served order.
In terms of recruitment, I would prefer to have 12th grade students that are native speakers take the test, followed by 11th then 10th.
The exam is FREE however any “no shows” will have to pay a $20 fine.
Study groups will also be held and attendance is mandatory.

The Pat Tillman Foundation invites you to apply to become a Tillman Military Scholar. The Pat Tillman Foundation is dedicated to supporting educational
opportunities for veterans, service members, and their families (spouses or children under age 30). The Tillman Military Scholar Program provides direct
study-related expenses such as tuition, fees, books, room and board, and other needs, such as child care. The 2010/2011 application opened Monday,
March 15, 2010 and is due by 5:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, April 30, 2010.
In 2009, the Pat Tillman Foundation awarded $642,000 to 52 Tillman Military Scholars to men and women at 21 universities in 16 states for the 2009/2010

SCIENCE FUN FOR KIDS 9 TO 99
MIRA MESA - Bring the family and join San Diego Miramar College science professors for science fun from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, March 20 in the college's state-of-the-art science labs.
Free workshops and demonstrations include How to Get DNA from Anything, Sea Creatures, Slime Molecules and More, andSensory Perception and You. Group sessions will begin at 9, 10 and 11 a.m.
"This will be a taste of college and a fun experience for children of all ages," said Dr. Sandra Slivka, Director of the Southern California Biotechnology Center at Miramar College.

Each year, every high school in the United States and Puerto Rico can select up to three graduating seniors to receive $1,000 Imagine Americascholarships. This award-winning Imagine AmericaScholarship Program helps thousands of high school seniors each year pursue postsecondary career education at hundreds of career schools across the United States.
A leader in scholarship programs available for career education, Imagine America has met with immense praise since it was launched in 1998 by the Imagine America Foundation, the not-for-profit affiliate of the Career College Association.
In its very first year, Imagine America was honored with the Award of Excellence by the American Society of Association Executives.
The following year, the Imagine America Foundation was one of just nine organizations from across the United States to be chosen for the American Society of Association Executives' Summit Award which honors organizations that "propel America forward with innovative projects in education, skills training, standards-setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship and community service."
Imagine America has also received strong support from numerous prominent youth and education-focused organizations. General Colin Powell of America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth endorses the program.

The following information is regarding all Summer 2010 important dates and deadlines for students that want to take SUMMER CLASSES at City College!

Students are now available to complete the college application for high school concurrent enrollment online or in-person at the Admissions Office.
All students must have completed any necessary tests or counseling appointments prior to the “walk-in registration” date to ensure that the student is enrolled successfully during that week. It is always best to be prepared at least two weeks in advance. All prerequisites must be met for any class choice prior to enrollment and can be verified through our Counseling Department as early as when the class schedule is available on the web.
